Privacy policy

Information on how CVMarkdown processes your personal data under the EU GDPR and Spanish LOPDGDD.

Last updated: 2026-05-17

Quick summary

Your resume is loaded, edited and rendered to PDF entirely in your browser. The CV content is never sent to the server: "Download PDF" opens the browser's native print dialog and you pick "Save as PDF". There is no database, no accounts and no third-party analytics.

1. Data controller

Controller: Daniel Rosselló (owner of the cvmarkdown.com domain). Address: Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Contact: [email protected].

2. Data we process

CVMarkdown only processes the resume content you type (name, professional title, contact info, experience, education, etc.). We don't ask for login credentials, postal address, payment data or any additional identifier. There is no signup form.

3. Purpose and legal basis

The CV content is only processed on your own device, inside your browser, to show the preview and allow you to export it to PDF via the browser's native print dialog. The legal basis is the performance of a service actively requested by you (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). It is not used for profiling, advertising or commercial messaging.

4. Retention

Zero retention and zero reception: the server never receives the content of your CV. Everything (parsing, editing, preview and PDF export) happens in your browser. No database, no on-disk copy, no logs with CV content.

5. Recipients

We do not share your data with third parties because we don't receive it. We don't sell information to advertisers. We don't use external AI services to process the CV. Clicking "Download PDF" opens the browser's print dialog, handled entirely by your browser.

MCP server (mcp.cvmarkdown.com)

The cvmarkdown.com editor is still 100% client-side: your CV never leaves your browser when you edit or print from the web. If you choose to use our MCP server (mcp.cvmarkdown.com) from an LLM client (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor), your CV is sent to your client's model for analysis. cvmarkdown.com does not process the content; we only store, for up to 5 minutes, the markdown needed to generate the print URL that opens the PDF in your browser. We do not log which CVs go through; only anonymised per-tool counters, with no content and no IP.

6. Security

All communication with the site is encrypted with TLS. Since the CV content is not transmitted to the server, the leak risk on our side is nil. PDF generation runs in your own browser using its built-in print engine.

7. User rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability. Because we don't store data, most of these rights are satisfied automatically (there's nothing to rectify or erase). For any related request, write to [email protected].

8. Cookies

We only use one technical cookie (`NEXT_LOCALE`) to remember your preferred language. We don't use analytics, advertising or social network cookies. More details in the Cookie policy.

9. Policy changes

CVMarkdown may update this policy to reflect technical or legal changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. If changes affect how your data is processed, we will communicate them in advance.

10. Contact

For any privacy-related question, write to [email protected]. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if you believe your rights have been violated.
